PHOTO EDITOR, AMP STORIES, THE WASHINGTON POST
11/2017 - PRESENT

 

Selected as a part of a small multidisciplinary team of newsroom innovators to work in close collaboration with Google to develop a visual storytelling format tailored to mobile audiences. The team works independently within the newsroom to create visual stories.

Directed photographic coverage of news events and stories from across the globe; collaborated with the paper's growing network of foreign correspondents and photographers to contribute to The Post’s award-winning international coverage.

PHOTO EDITOR, MORNING MIX, THE WASHINGTON POST
10/2013 - 10/2015

 

A founding partner of The Post’s overnight breaking news and general assignment team, Morning Mix. Produced visually driven stories that contributed to the section's massive growth in readership. Served as de facto overnight visual editor, handling photography and video for breaking news events and features such as the shooting of Michael Brown and the California drought.

CONTRACT PHOTO EDITOR, THE WASHINGTON POST
2011

 

Conceived and curated online picture galleries for news and features. Conducted photo research using wire services and Washington Post print and digital archives for newsroom requests and projects, including the award-winning piece “The Hunt: The Search for Osama bin Laden.”

MULTIMEDIA PHOTOGRAPHER AND EDITOR, FREELANCE
2010-2013

 

Produced multimedia pieces and still photography and edited for numerous publications and organizations, including The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Al Jazeera English, Poynter Institute and Teach for America. Projects included a multimedia series, “Liberty through the Lens,” for which I interviewed a broad range of battleground state voters as they wrestled with the most important issues of the 2012 election.
